I bought three books today x2 crime and one by Elisabeth Gilbert 'Committed: A Sceptic Makes Peace with Marriage'! I can't wait to get around to reading this:

At the end of her bestselling memoir "Eat, Pray, Love", Elizabeth Gilbert fell in love with Felipe - a Brazilian-born man of Australian citizenship who'd been living in Indonesia when they met. Resettling in America, the couple swore eternal fidelity to each other, but also swore to never, ever, under any circumstances get legally married. (Both survivors of difficult divorces. Enough said.) But providence intervened one day in the form of the U.S. government, who - after unexpectedly detaining Felipe at an American border crossing - gave the couple a choice: they could either get married, or Felipe would never be allowed to enter the country again. Having been effectively sentenced to wed, Gilbert tackled her fears of marriage by delving completely into this topic, trying with all her might to discover (through historical research, interviews and much personal reflection) what this stubbornly enduring old institution actually is. The result is "Committed" - a witty and intelligent contemplation of marriage that debunks myths, unthreads fears and suggests that sometimes even the most romantic of souls must trade in her amorous fantasies for the humbling responsibility of adulthood. Gilbert's memoir - destined to become a cherished handbook for any thinking person hovering on the verge of marriage - is ultimately a clear-eyed celebration of love, with all the complexity and consequence that real love, in the real world, actually entails.
Sounds interesting, love to hear how you get on with it
bought 3 books today all from the Twilght series. Got a great offer on them. Amy was looking for something to read and I had heard so much about these books I thought I would give them a try
Let us know how you get on with the Twilight books, Claire. I couldn't put them down.

I bought Claudia Carroll's 'Personally, I blame by Fair Godmother. I'm going on holidays this week and think it will be perfect for the plane!
I'd love to hear what you think of Claudia Carroll's new book! Haven't read it.
Will let you know, Shirley. I'm hoping that it's going to be funny, and in a kind of sarcastic clever way, with not too much depth!.
where are you going? hope you have a lovely time.

started the first book and yes it is good so far
Claire, I'm re-reading Twilight again at the moment. I've yet to read the others.

Megan, enjoy your holiday.
I'm going to Sardinia with Oisin. Can't wait and can't quite believe it either!
Have bought 'The Reading Group' by Elizabeth Noble. But in the meantime I'm reading 'Very Valentine' by Adriana Trigiani and have 'Encore Valentine' to read next. I like the style of her writing - it has that New York Italian style conversations going on and the family dramas and relationships. Love it!
Saw a few others in the shops the other day too when shopping for warm gear to wear (it's freezing here this winter and I need thermals!!), so I'll be keeping them in mind as well.
Happy reading everyone.
Luv and hugs, Jo. xx
